KiddiCraft
The KiddiCraft name belongs at the start of the story. Hilary Fisher Page founded Kiddicraft in Purley, England, in 1932 and patented the Self-Locking Building Brick in 1939, selling it from 1947. A British moulding-machine supplier showed a sample to Ole Kirk Christiansen, who began selling the Automatic Binding Brick in 1949 — the brick that became the LEGO brick in 1953. Page died in 1957 without knowing. The V&A holds a set, and the origin is acknowledged by LEGO itself, which bought the rights in 1981.
The brand today is German and carries the name; no corporate continuity is claimed. The current range splits into Brick Farm, Brick City, the coastal Moin series set on the German North Sea coast, KIDDIZ figure packs, and the Herocraft fantasy line with its knights and orcs.
One detail collectors tend to enjoy: KiddiCraft puts real people from the building-brick scene into its sets as figures, including the builder de_drickbuur and the German YouTubers Held der Steine and Johnny's World.
