Transparent figures have been the chase piece for thirty years

A clear minifigure is one of the oldest collector categories in the brick hobby, and the appeal has always been the same: it is the one version of a familiar object that cannot be mistaken for an ordinary one on a shelf.

They are also genuinely harder to make. Opaque figures are moulded in ABS with pigment, which hides a great deal — flow lines, slight sink marks, small variations in wall thickness. A transparent part hides none of it. Every flaw in the mould, every stray particle, every place where the plastic cooled unevenly is visible through the body of the piece.

Clear resin also has to be run hotter and slower, the tooling must be polished to a far higher standard, and the material itself costs more. A manufacturer producing a transparent figure is accepting a higher reject rate for a part that carries no printing and tells no story.

Which is why they are made in small numbers and sold as collector pieces rather than included in sets.

What it is for

A display figure rather than a play one. It stands on studs like any other KIDDIZ figure and belongs in a cabinet more than a city.
