BlueBrixx

BlueBrixx is a German brick brand, founded in 2017 by Klaus Kiunke and aimed at adult builders rather than children. The range runs to subjects most manufacturers leave alone: full-length passenger trains, large castles, timber-framed German architecture, ships, and licensed Star Trek models.

Two things are worth knowing before you combine sets. The castles come in two separate systems — the Blaustein range and the later Bärenfels range — and they do not connect to each other. The same is true of the pirate sets, where Pirates Island and Governors Island are different systems. On the trains, the Rheingold carriages exist in two lengths, 35.5 cm and the longer 50.5 cm marked “(8w)”, and the two do not belong in the same train.

BlueBrixx also works around trademarks by naming vehicles after German cities: a “Stuttgart” model is a Mercedes-Benz, an “Augsburg” is a MAN truck. Many sets, particularly the BlueBrixx Specials line, ship with a download code for the instructions rather than a printed booklet, and a few have no bag division at all — where we know this, it is stated on the product page.
