BlueBrixx RC Technic Tractor Set 103215

BlueBrixx's RC Technic Tractor is built from 1,652 blocks as a remote-controlled model with working mechanical functions. Part of the BlueBrixx-Pro Technic series, released 2020, built from CaDA parts. Age 14+, printed instructions included.

Why tractors are a Technic staple

Almost every manufacturer of technical building sets makes a tractor, and it is not because tractors are glamorous.

It is because on a tractor the machinery is on the outside. A sports car hides its engineering under bodywork — you build a gearbox nobody will ever see again. A tractor has nothing to hide behind: the articulated steering, the three-point hitch at the back, the power take-off, the hydraulics, the way the front axle pivots to keep all four wheels on uneven ground. All of it is visible on the finished model and all of it can be made to work.

That is what a technical set is for. The reward is watching the mechanism function, and a subject that puts its mechanism on the surface gives you far more of that per piece.

Agricultural machinery is also genuinely sophisticated engineering that most people never look at closely, which is the other half of why it works as a model.

A note on the parts

The bricks are made by CaDA, a manufacturer known particularly for technical elements. BlueBrixx both develops its own sets and sources from other manufacturers under its own name — not hidden, and worth knowing if you care where a design comes from.
