Star Trek: The Next Generation Archives & Inscriptions: A Collector's Guide

Rittenhouse Star Trek TNG Archives & Inscriptions sealed box

Rittenhouse's Archives & Inscriptions sets are built around one kind of card: the inscription autograph, where the actor writes a character name, a line or a catchphrase next to the signature. This is what the Next Generation box contains.

The configuration

A box holds 24 packs with 4 autograph cards, among them dual autographs and inscription autographs. Most Rittenhouse season sets guarantee two or three signatures per box; this line guarantees four, because the signatures are what the set is about.

The base set is 100 cards, with parallel variations and chase inserts covering characters and moments across the seven seasons of the series.

Why inscriptions matter

A plain autograph is a name. An inscription adds something the actor chose to write — and writing a phrase on hundreds of cards takes far longer than signing them, so inscriptions are always the scarcer version. Collectors generally value them well above the plain signature of the same actor, and the right line from the right character most of all.

The sister set

Rittenhouse applied the same idea to Voyager in 2026, in a set limited to 500 cases. We covered it in a separate guide, and the two boxes sit naturally side by side: the same format, two crews, two generations of the franchise.

All pull rates are averages across the full print run. No individual box is guaranteed to contain any particular signer or inscription beyond the configuration described above.
