Game of Thrones The Great Houses and Season 6: A Collector's Guide

Rittenhouse Game of Thrones The Great Houses sealed box

Rittenhouse's Game of Thrones sets range from the premium, autograph-in-every-pack releases to more conventional boxes. The Great Houses and Season 6 are the two in the second group. This is what each contains and how they compare.

The Great Houses, 2025

A box holds 24 packs of 5 cards with 2 on-card autographs and 2 wardrobe relic cards. The base set is 61 cards, covering characters from every major house of Westeros.

The signer list is long: Pedro Pascal, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Charles Dance, Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Aidan Gillen, Hannah Waddingham and many more — and Ramin Djawadi, the composer of the series' music. The premium autographs include duals, relic autographs, Dragonglass autographs, printing plates, inscriptions and a new Valyrian Steel autograph signed by Pedro Pascal.

The inserts include the Saga of Tyrion Lannister (67 cards) and Saga of Catelyn Stark (10), Dragonglass acetate cards numbered to 15, Artifex metal cards by David Desbois numbered to 25, Night's Watch, Free Folk, Kingsguard and Dothraki series, JJ Lendl episode posters numbered to 75 and artist-signed versions numbered to 25, and hand-drawn sketch cards.

Season 6, 2017

A box holds 24 packs of 5 cards — 120 cards — with 2 autographs and 8 parallel cards. Every box is individually numbered, from a production run limited to 11,000.

The base set is 100 cards, a complete recap of the season with nearly seventy character biographies. The inserts are Quotable (1:12), Relationships (1:24), Beautiful Death art (1:24) and Hall of Faces (1:96), with foil and gold parallels. Relic and sketch cards fall about one per case, and the set includes the first costume card ever made of Emilia Clarke as Daenerys.

Choosing between them

The Great Houses gives more guaranteed hits per box — two autographs and two relics — and the broader, more recent signer list. Season 6 is the older set, with a numbered box and a closed print run of 11,000.

All pull rates are averages across the full print run. No individual box is guaranteed to contain any particular insert, sketch or signer beyond the configuration described above.
