Rittenhouse 2017 Game of Thrones Season 6 – Sealed Box

A factory-sealed hobby box of Rittenhouse's 2017 Game of Thrones Season 6 trading cards — 24 packs of 5 cards, 120 cards in total, with 2 cast autograph cards and 8 parallel cards per box. Each box is individually numbered as part of a production run limited to 11,000.

Every box has a number printed on it

That is unusual, and it is worth understanding what it does.

Most sealed product is anonymous. A box is a box; there is no way to tell whether it came from a run of five thousand or fifty thousand, and the collector takes the manufacturer's word for the print run.

Numbering each box changes that. The number is proof of the run size, printed on the object itself — and it makes each box a slightly different thing. Low numbers, round numbers and numbers with personal significance all trade at a premium on the secondary market, for no reason other than that people like them.

It also creates a hard ceiling. When 11,000 boxes are gone, no more exist, and a factory-sealed one becomes progressively harder to find. Game of Thrones Season 6 is now eight years old, which is long enough for most of that run to have been opened.

The first Daenerys costume card

Relic and sketch cards fall roughly one per case, and this set contains the first costume card ever made featuring Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen — a piece of a garment she actually wore, embedded in a card. Firsts of that kind hold their interest in a way that later repetitions do not.
