COBI
COBI US Air Support Center Set 3042
COBI's US Air Support Center is a 1:35 model built from 652 blocks, 38 cm tall, produced under licence from Relic Entertainment and based on the building of the same name in the strategy game Company of Heroes 3. A figure of an American soldier with a motorcycle is included, along with ammunition, a crate, a shovel, barrels and sandbags. All markings are printed.
The tallest thing COBI makes
At 38 centimetres this is a genuinely large structure, and it is the reason to buy the set even if you have never played the game: it is a control tower and an observation post at exactly the scale of COBI's 1:35 tanks and figures.
Most brick military collections are a row of vehicles on a shelf. A building changes that. Put a Sherman next to a tower this tall and you have somewhere for the vehicles to be, which is what a diorama actually needs and what almost nothing in the range supplies.
Company of Heroes
The licence is worth explaining. Company of Heroes is a real-time strategy series set in the Second World War, developed by Relic Entertainment; the first game in 2006 is widely regarded as one of the best strategy games ever made, and the third, from 2023, covers the Italian campaign and North Africa.
What distinguishes it from other war games is that it models cover, suppression and morale rather than hit points — infantry pinned behind a wall cannot advance, and the ground matters more than the numbers. That is unusually close to how the fighting actually worked.
In the COBI range
Part of the Company of Heroes 3 series with the Churchill Mk. III (3046), the German Fighting Position (3043) and the Sherman M4A1 (3044), all at 1:35.
