What V2 changed

This is a revision of set 101341 rather than a different carriage, and the difference is the glazing: the windows are larger, which is both more accurate and the single biggest thing you notice on a model of a passenger coach.

It matters more than it sounds. A carriage is essentially a long box, and almost everything the eye uses to judge whether it looks right is the window line — how tall the openings are, how they are spaced, how much solid body sits above and below them. Get that wrong and no amount of detail elsewhere will save it.

BlueBrixx revises sets quietly in this way fairly often, and the revision usually keeps a new set number rather than replacing the old one. If both versions are available, this is the later one.

Check the length before you build a train

BlueBrixx has made Rheingold carriages in two sizes. This one is 35.5 cm and belongs with sets 101341 and 101344. The four-axle cars marked (8w) — sets 104284, 104286 and 104287 — are 50.5 cm and will not sit correctly alongside these. Pick a generation and stay with it.
