Stuttgart means Mercedes
There is no manufacturer called Stuttgart. The city is where Mercedes-Benz has been based since the company's beginnings, and BlueBrixx uses the name because it has no licence for the marque.
It is the same device the range uses elsewhere β a lorry called Augsburg because MAN is Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-NΓΌrnberg, a Formula car from 1979 with no team name, a Western saloon with no film licence. The model is accurate, the badge is absent, and the place name tells whoever already knows.
The 770
The Mercedes-Benz 770, known as the GroΓer Mercedes, was the largest and most expensive German car of its era β a 7.7-litre straight-eight, built from 1930 to 1943 in tiny numbers for heads of state, royalty and the very wealthy.
Around 200 were made across both series. Because so few exist and because of who was photographed in them, surviving examples are among the most valuable and most contested cars in the world: provenance disputes, court cases over ownership, and auctions that have been abandoned after public objection.
It is worth knowing what the car is before buying a model of it. The 770's associations are unavoidable and are the reason it is remembered at all β as a piece of engineering it was conventional for its class, and the German state ordered armoured versions of it for the people it carried.
In the BlueBrixx range
Set 101335 is the Stuttgart G4, the three-axle staff car from the same period and the same manufacturer.
