Rittenhouse 2022 Star Trek Discovery Season 4 – Sealed Case (12 Boxes)

A factory-sealed case of Rittenhouse's Star Trek: Discovery Season Four trading cards. Per box: 3 autograph cards and 1 relic card. Per case: 5 inscription autograph cards, 2 autograph/relic cards, and a case topper.

One of these autographs is a politician

Look down the signer list and you will find Stacey Abrams between Doug Jones and Tig Notaro.

She is not a working actor. She is an American politician — former minority leader of the Georgia House, twice a candidate for governor, and one of the more prominent voting-rights organisers of the last decade. She is also a lifelong Star Trek viewer, and in 2022 the producers of Discovery cast her in a small part as the President of United Earth.

It was a one-scene appearance and it caused a certain amount of noise, which is roughly what everyone involved expected.

For a card collector the significance is different and more durable: a Stacey Abrams on-card autograph exists in almost no other context. Celebrity autographs from outside entertainment are rare in trading cards, and this one arrived through a franchise that has always attracted people who watched it before they were famous for anything else.

What the signer list is worth reading for

Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Wilson Cruz, Mary Wiseman, Blu Del Barrio, David Ajala, Tig Notaro and more — the principal cast is fully represented, which is not always true of a season set.

Sketch card artists include Kevin Graham, Westley Smith, Charles Hall, Brent Ragland, Adam Cleveland and Roy Cover.
