Qman's Shadow Pulse Combat Vehicle is built from 714 blocks, with parts for eight different vehicles — aircraft, jeep, tank, motor boat — which also combine into a larger mecha. Age 6+.

Stealth means something different on the ground

Stealth aircraft are about radar, and everyone knows the story: flat facets, angles that reflect the beam away, radar-absorbent coatings.

A ground vehicle has a different problem. It sits on a landscape full of radar clutter, so radar was never the main way to find it. What finds a tank is heat.

An armoured vehicle runs an engine producing hundreds of kilowatts of waste heat, and against cool ground it glows on a thermal imager from several kilometres away — through smoke, through camouflage netting, at night, which is precisely when it thought it was hidden.

So ground stealth is thermal management rather than shaping. Exhaust is mixed with cool air before it leaves the vehicle. Engine decks are insulated. Modern camouflage nets are not cloth but multi-spectral screens designed to break up the heat signature as well as the outline, and some systems use panels that actively match the vehicle's surface temperature to the background.

The shape still matters, but for an older reason: a low silhouette is harder to see and harder to hit, which was true long before anyone had an infrared camera.

Eight models plus a combined form

Eight builds from one box, which also assemble into a larger mecha. Each vehicle has to work on its own while containing a section that only makes sense later — every connection hidden in one form and load-bearing in the other.
