COBI's Sd.Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger is a 1:28 model built from 1,280 blocks, 38 cm long, with part of the interior built in, a removable brick engine under the service hatch, a gun that traverses, opening crew hatches and working tracks. A commander figure and a printed nameplate are included.

The largest gun on tracks

The 12.8 cm Pak 44 in the front of this vehicle was the heaviest anti-tank gun any country put into service during the war. It could destroy any Allied or Soviet tank at ranges where the target could not reliably see what was shooting at it, and there was no armour on any battlefield that stopped it.

Everything else about the Jagdtiger was the price of carrying it. At around 75 tonnes it was the heaviest armoured vehicle of the war to reach units, and that weight went through a Tiger II drivetrain designed for twenty tonnes less. It broke down constantly, drank fuel Germany did not have, and could not cross most European road bridges, which meant routes had to be planned around it.

Around 80 were built. More were destroyed by their own crews after breakdowns than were ever knocked out by enemy fire — a gun that could kill anything, on a chassis that could not get it there.
