The final season of the longest-running science fiction series in North America

SG-1 ended in 2007 after ten seasons and 214 episodes, having overtaken The X-Files to become the longest-running North American science fiction television series — a record it held until Smallville and then Supernatural passed it.

Ten seasons is a great deal of television for a premise that started as a film sequel nobody expected to last. It survived a change of network, the departure and partial return of its lead, and a complete reinvention in its ninth year when Ben Browder and Claudia Black arrived and a new enemy replaced the one the show had used for eight years.

Season 10 is the end of that, and it is also the point at which the franchise had three series running in the same decade. Two direct-to-video films followed to finish the story.

A final-season set is a particular kind of object: the checklist is closed, the cast had a reason to sign, and nothing was ever added.
