Rittenhouse 2025 Foundation Seasons 1 & 2 – Sealed Case (12 Boxes)

A factory-sealed case of 12 boxes of Rittenhouse's Foundation Seasons 1 & 2 trading cards, from the Apple TV+ series. Strictly limited to 200 cases worldwide. Per box: 24 packs of 5 cards with 3 on-card autographs. Per case: 4 inscription autographs and 6 relic cards.

Foundation was considered unfilmable for seventy years

Isaac Asimov's Foundation stories began appearing in 1942, and for most of the time since, every attempt to adapt them collapsed on the same problem.

The books span roughly a thousand years. No character survives more than a fraction of that, so there is no protagonist — the thing the story follows is a mathematical prediction about the collapse and recovery of a galactic civilisation. The central figure, Hari Seldon, is dead for most of it and appears as a recording.

That is a magnificent idea and a nightmare for a screenwriter. Audiences follow people, not statistics, and a series in which everyone you have come to care about dies between episodes is a hard sell. Roland Emmerich tried, Jonathan Nolan tried, HBO tried, and Sony held the rights for years without filming anything.

The Apple adaptation solved it by inventing continuity the books do not have: a cloned emperor who is the same three men in every era, and a character who survives across centuries. Purists object. It is also the reason the thing exists at all.

A card set of it is unusual for the same reason the show was — there is no obvious cast to build around, and the checklist reflects that.
