What a sealed case guarantees that twelve loose boxes do not

Three things only come with an unopened case, and they are the reason cases sell at a premium over the boxes inside them.

One Kate Mulgrew or Jeri Ryan autograph. Averaged across the production run, every case contains one. Buy twelve boxes separately and you have a chance at one; buy the case and you have it.

Four Inscription autograph cards. Cards where the signer added a line of dialogue or a character name beside the signature. No two are written identically, which makes each one effectively unique.

The case topper set: CT1 Captain Janeway, CT2 Seven of Nine, CT3 The Doctor. These are not in the packs and cannot be pulled from a box.

Beyond that, a case holds 48 “Big Hits” — four per box — of which at least 36 are autographs.

500 cases, and that is all

The print run is 500 cases worldwide. Not 500 of a variant, not 500 of a chase card — five hundred cases in total, from which every Voyager Archives and Inscriptions card in existence will come.

That makes roughly 500 Mulgrew or Ryan autographs, around 250 apiece, and 2,000 Inscription cards, for a series that ran seven seasons and has been off the air since 2001.

What is in the set

The base set is 60 cards, one per character, each carrying a memorable line. Rittenhouse printed more than 200 different quote variations across those 60 cards, so two complete sets need not look alike.
