COBI Police Patrol Set 1547

COBI's Police Patrol is built from 61 blocks: a police quad bike with wheels that turn on thick rubber tires and front lamps that glow in the dark. A police officer figure is included with a shortwave radio and a helmet with a lowered visor. Part of the Action Town range.

A quad is a serious piece of police equipment

Police forces use all-terrain vehicles for the same reason farmers and mountain rescue teams do: they go where a car cannot and carry a person and their kit at speed over ground that would take twenty minutes to walk.

In practice that means beaches, parks, festival sites, forest tracks, dunes and the edges of motorways — and searching for a missing person, which is the job where covering ground quickly matters most.

They are also used where a patrol car would be wrong for a different reason: an officer on a quad is visible and approachable in a way that one behind glass is not, which is why seaside and park units favour them.

The glowing lamps

The luminous front lights charge in daylight and glow in a dark room. It is a small thing and it is the detail a child notices first.

At 61 pieces this is one of the smallest sets COBI makes and a sensible first one.
