One hundred and thirty is an extraordinarily small number

Most models in this range run to three or four hundred pieces. Popular drivers reach a thousand or more. A hundred and thirty is the smallest edition in the entire Minichamps Formula One catalogue here, by a considerable margin.

Runs get that small for a practical reason. Minichamps decides how many to make before production, based on what distributors order. A second-string driver, in a slow car, at a race where nothing notable happened, generates very few pre-orders — and the tooling and licensing costs are the same whether you make 130 or 1,300.

What that produces is a curious inversion. The models nobody wanted at the time are the ones that become impossible to find, while the popular cars sit in shops for years.

Anybody assembling a complete season — every car from one Grand Prix, or every race of one driver's year — runs into these first. They are the gaps that stay gaps.

Singapore

Sargeant qualified fifteenth and retired from the race. It is the only Grand Prix Red Bull lost in 2023, won by Carlos Sainz for Ferrari.
