COBI Maserati MC20 Set 24335
COBI's Maserati MC20 is a 1:12 model built from 2,269 blocks under original licence from Maserati, 39 cm long, with butterfly doors that open, working steering that turns the front wheels, a brick-built engine and a display stand. The interior and body detail are reproduced in printed blocks.
The first engine Maserati built in twenty years
MC stands for Maserati Corse and 20 for 2020, the year the car appeared. What makes it matter is under the rear deck.
For two decades Maserati had been fitted with engines designed and built by Ferrari. The MC20 broke that: the Nettuno V6 was designed by Maserati, built in Modena, and it brought a piece of Formula 1 into a road car. Each cylinder has a small pre-chamber above the main combustion chamber, with its own spark plug. Ignition starts in the pre-chamber and jets of flame shoot through into the main chamber, burning a lean mixture far faster and more completely than a single plug can. The result is 630 horsepower from three litres, and over 325 km/h.
The rest of the car follows the same logic: a carbon fibre tub, no fixed rear wing, and butterfly doors hinged to open upward and forward β which the model reproduces.

At 1:12 this is one of COBI's large-scale cars, alongside the CitroΓ«n 2CV Charleston (24341). It is a much bigger scale than the 1:35 historical vehicles.
