BlueBrixx Governors Island: Harbour Set 105181
BlueBrixx's Governors Island: Harbour is built from 1,647 blocks, measuring 43 Γ 28.5 Γ 37 cm assembled, with docks, storage areas and accessories. Designed by Marco P., released 21 January 2023. Part of the modular Governors Island system.
The parts are not sorted into bags
Worth knowing before you start. This set has no bag separation β 1,647 pieces arrive together rather than divided into numbered bags for each building stage, and the instructions run to 342 steps.
That changes the experience considerably. With numbered bags you open one, build a section, and open the next; with everything loose you are searching a pile for a specific part, for hours.
Experienced builders usually sort by colour and shape into trays before starting, and for a set this size that is genuinely worth the half hour it takes. If you have only built sets with bagged stages before, this is a step up in patience rather than in difficulty.
It is also why the set costs what it does rather than more β sorting and bagging is a real part of what a manufacturer charges for.
A harbour is the module that makes the island work
Governors Island is a modular system: each set is a rock island that connects to the others, so the layout grows and can be rearranged.
The harbour is the piece that gives the rest a purpose. A pirate island without a dock is scenery; with one, there is a reason for ships to arrive and cargo to move, and every other module gets connected to something.
In the BlueBrixx range
Set 105128 is the Governors Island Tavern, which connects to this one. Both are designed by Marco P. and share the modular rock-island base.
