myBrickZ DHL Deutsche Post Truck with Rolling Container Set 0005
myBrickZ's DHL Deutsche Post Truck with Rolling Container, set 0005, is an officially licensed delivery truck built from 398 pieces, with opening doors, a removable roof and a silver rolling container that can be loaded and unloaded. Every decorated piece is printed; there are no stickers.
An American name on a German truck
The yellow and red livery looks thoroughly German, and half of it is. DHL was founded in San Francisco in 1969 by three men — Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn — whose initials became the name. Their first business was flying shipping documents to Honolulu ahead of the ships.
Deutsche Post, the German state postal service turned private company, bought into DHL at the end of the 1990s and took full control in 2002. The truck in this set carries both names because the company does: Deutsche Post for letters and parcels in Germany, DHL for the rest of the world.
In the myBrickZ range
Set 0003 is the DHL StreetScooter electric van with a Packstation. Sets 0002 and 0006 are Berlin buses, and 0001 the train station.
