COBI Top Gun Aircraft Carrier Set 5922 (Damaged Box)
COBI's Top Gun Aircraft Carrier is a 1:300 model built from 6,130 blocks, 114.5 cm long, under the official Top Gun licence, with lifting deck sections, working aircraft elevators, turning propellers and rudders, micro-scale aircraft and a display stand.
Condition
This set is sold at a reduced price because the outer box is damaged — it may have holes, creases or crushed corners. The contents are brand new, sealed and complete. If you are building the model rather than collecting sealed boxes, the only difference is the price.
Read this before you order
This is COBI's largest ship and one of the largest sets the company has made. 6,130 pieces is a project measured in weeks rather than evenings, and 114.5 centimetres is longer than most shelves. It is rated 14+, and that is not a formality. Decide where it will stand before it arrives.
Which ship is it?
The film used more than one. The carrier in the 1986 Top Gun is the USS Enterprise, but much of the deck footage was shot aboard the USS Ranger, and aerial sequences used the USS Carl Vinson. Film carriers are usually composites, because filming has to fit around a warship's actual schedule. The result is a vessel that exists only on screen — and that is the ship this model represents.
