COBI Subaru Impreza WRC 2004 Set 24652
COBI's Subaru Impreza WRC 2004 is a 1:35 set built from 206 blocks under official Subaru licence: the rally car at 12.5 cm, plus a finish-line ceremony diorama with a gate, a trophy, flowers, Norwegian and Japanese flags, a service laptop and tools, and two figures in Subaru rally suits.
The second figure is the one doing the hard part
Two crew are in the box because a rally car needs two people, and the one in the passenger seat is not a passenger.
The co-driver reads pace notes: a shorthand description of the road ahead, written by the crew themselves during the reconnaissance runs and delivered continuously, several seconds in advance, for the length of a stage that may run forty kilometres. Six left tightens into four, hundred, crest, don't cut. The driver is committing to corners he cannot yet see, at speed, on the strength of what he is being told.
Get the timing wrong by a second and the driver brakes for a corner that is not there, or does not brake for one that is. The pair in this set are modelled on Petter Solberg and Phil Mills, who worked together for six seasons and took the 2003 world championship.

Part of the 1:35 Subaru collection, with the 2003 car (24650) and the road-going WRX STI (24649).
