COBI Su-57 Felon Set 5909
COBI's Su-57 Felon is a 1:48 model built from 928 blocks, 41 cm long, in the digital camouflage carried by the real aircraft. The cockpit and weapons bay open, the controls move, and R-77M and KS-172 missiles are included along with orange bricks representing engine flame. A pilot figure, a display base and a nameplate complete the set. All markings are printed; no stickers.
Very few of them exist
The Su-57 was designed as Russia's answer to the F-22 and F-35, and it has had a difficult twenty-five years.
Design work began in the late 1990s. The first prototype flew in 2010 as the T-50. Serial deliveries were meant to start in 2015 and did not; the first production aircraft was lost in a crash before handover in 2019; and the type was formally accepted in 2020. By the mid-2020s something in the order of two to three dozen had been delivered, against plans that once ran to several hundred.
India joined the programme as a development partner and withdrew in 2018, citing performance, stealth characteristics and cost. The intended second-stage engine, which the aircraft needs to meet its original specification, has been in testing for years.
It is a genuinely interesting aircraft — the airframe is exceptionally manoeuvrable and the thrust-vectoring works — and it is also a programme that has not delivered what was promised.
In the COBI range
This is COBI's first modern Russian aircraft, and it stands opposite the F-22 (5855), the F-35 (5895, 5904) and the Eurofighter at the same scale.
