COBI StuG III Ausf. G Assault Gun Set 2676

COBI's StuG III Ausf. G is a 1:28 model of the German assault gun, built from 955 blocks and supplied with a figure of a German artilleryman in field cap, his shoulder-strap piping marking him as artillery crew.

A service hatch on the rear deck lifts away to reveal the Maybach HL120 TRM engine, which can be taken out and displayed beside the vehicle. A removable armor section opens the fighting compartment to view, the gun barrel elevates, and the tracks and suspension move. A printed collector's plaque with the vehicle name and scale is included.

The real StuG III Ausf. G

The Ausf. G was the final and most numerous version of Germany's assault gun, with roughly 7,700 built. Its low, turretless hull made it hard to spot, and the long 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 gun it carried was effective against both infantry positions and tanks — a combination that saw it used increasingly for defense and ambush rather than the infantry-support role it was designed for. StuG IIIs fought at Kursk, in Italy, in Normandy and in the Ardennes.
