A COBI minifigure of an SAS officer in printed uniform, fixed to a matching brick with a metal chain and keyring. The connection points are glued so it survives daily use.

The dagger is meant to be a sword

The SAS badge shows a downward-pointing blade with wings and the motto Who Dares Wins, and it is almost universally described as a winged dagger.

It was not supposed to be. The design was submitted in 1941 by Sergeant Bob Tait, and the blade was drawn as Excalibur — King Arthur's sword, flaming. It came out looking like a dagger, everybody called it a dagger, and the name stuck so completely that the regiment eventually gave up correcting people.

The motto was chosen by David Stirling, who founded the unit in 1941 in North Africa on the argument that a handful of men landing behind enemy lines at night could destroy more aircraft on the ground than a squadron of fighters could shoot down. The regiment destroyed several hundred Axis aircraft in the desert doing exactly that.
