COBI's RAM 3500 Fire Truck is a 1:35 model built from 358 blocks, 20.5 cm long, with a hose and pump on the bed, side compartments with hinged doors, opening rear doors, rotating wheels on rubber tires, and a firefighter figure with helmet and extinguisher.

A brush truck

A fire engine on a pickup chassis is not a scaled-down version of the big one. It is a different tool, and in American service it has a name: a brush truck, or a Type 6 engine.

Full-size fire apparatus weighs upwards of fifteen tonnes and needs a road. Wildland fires do not happen on roads. A brush truck is light enough to drive across open country, carries a few hundred gallons rather than a few thousand, and is built to keep pumping while it moves — spraying from a nozzle on the front as the driver works along the edge of a fire.

The compartments along the sides are the other half of the job. Rural departments are often the first vehicle at a road accident, a medical call or a flood, so the same truck carries cutting tools, medical equipment and lights. The small departments that run them frequently own nothing else.
