COBI PzKpfw VI Tiger Ausf. E - Executive Edition Set 2807

COBI's PzKpfw VI Tiger Ausf. E Executive Edition is a 1:12 model built from 8,000 blocks. Finished it is 71 cm long and weighs close to six kilograms. The turret rotates, the gun elevates, the hatches open, the tracks and wheels work as on the original, and the interior is reproduced throughout — ammunition stowage, gun, controls, switches. Developed in cooperation with the Musée des Blindés in Saumur. All markings are printed; the set contains no stickers.

The engine is a set in itself

Under the rear deck is a Maybach HL230, and it is built from around 300 blocks on its own. That is more pieces than several complete aircraft in COBI's Historical Collection. It lifts out and can be displayed beside the tank.

This is the clearest illustration of what 1:12 means. At 1:28 an engine is suggested. At this scale it is modelled — cylinder banks, ancillaries, the plumbing — and the difference is not decoration. It is the point of the set.

Tiger 114

The vehicle is the Tiger at Saumur. It fought on the Eastern Front, was captured by Allied forces and went into French service before ending up in the museum, where it is one of very few surviving Tigers anywhere.

COBI's earlier 1:12 Tiger was the Bovington 131. This one differs in more than markings: new camouflage that suits 1944 on any front, redesigned road wheels, stronger torsion bars to carry the weight, and the late Ausf. E details — including the smaller commander's cupola with an MG 34 mount for anti-aircraft use.

Before you order

Eight thousand pieces is a project measured in weeks, and 71 centimetres needs a shelf planned around it rather than found for it.
