COBI's MiG-29 is a 1:300 display model built from 40 blocks, supplied with a stand carrying the aircraft name and a transparent support that holds the model as if in flight.

At around 7 cm it is a desk or shelf piece rather than a building project.

Fulcrum

Fulcrum is not a Soviet name. It is the reporting name NATO assigned to the aircraft, from the system that gave every Soviet fighter a codename beginning with F. Soviet pilots called it simply the MiG-29.

The type first flew in 1977 and was built to counter the American F-15 and F-16, and its combination of thrust and a helmet-mounted sight made it dangerous in close combat in a way Western pilots did not fully appreciate until German MiG-29s inherited from the East German air force flew against NATO squadrons after reunification.

In the COBI range

1:300 is the scale COBI uses for its ships, so this model is sized to sit alongside them rather than beside the larger 1:48 and 1:32 aircraft — including the Top Gun aircraft carrier, set 5922.
