COBI's KV-2 is a 1:28 model of the Soviet heavy tank with its 152 mm howitzer, built from 1,300 blocks, with one crew figure.

Named after the man who lost his job over its war

KV stands for Kliment Voroshilov, the Soviet People's Commissar for Defence, and the tank carried his initials into a war that ended his career in that post.

The KV-2 was a direct product of the Winter War against Finland in 1939–40. The KV-1 had proved almost immune to Finnish guns, but its 76 mm gun could not break the concrete bunkers of the Mannerheim Line, so a 152 mm howitzer was put into a new, enormous turret on the same chassis. The war itself went so badly for the Red Army that Voroshilov was removed as Commissar for Defence in May 1940. The tanks kept his name.

Only around 334 KV-2s were built before production stopped in 1941.
