COBI K2 Black Panther Set 3107
COBI's K2 Black Panther is a 1:72 model built from 160 blocks, 13.5 cm long, with a turret that rotates.
It can kneel
The K2 rides on hydropneumatic suspension that the crew can adjust, and that is not a comfort feature. The tank can raise or lower each side independently, which lets it lean, squat or tilt nose-down.
Two things follow. It can depress its gun far below horizontal by dipping its nose โ useful when firing downhill from a ridge, which is most of South Korea. And it can lower itself behind cover so that only the turret shows.
The rest of the specification is equally current: an autoloader, a 120 mm L/55 gun, a radar and laser warning suite, and ammunition that can be fired in a top-attack mode against the thin roof armour of another tank.
Why it is in Polish markings
After transferring much of its armour to Ukraine in 2022, Poland needed replacements faster than Western production could supply them. South Korea could deliver, and quickly. Poland ordered 180 K2s off the shelf with the first arriving within months, and agreed a programme to build a further version domestically.
In the COBI range
Part of the 1:72 mini series, alongside the M48 Patton (3104) and the Leopard 1 (3105).
