COBI Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Green Set 24605
COBI's Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in green is a 1:35 model built from 90 blocks, 13 cm long, with rotating wheels on rubber tires and printed detail.
Two cylinders short of a Ferrari
The engine in this car has an unusual family tree. Alfa Romeo's 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 was developed at Maranello and is, in its essentials, Ferrari's V8 with one cylinder removed from each bank — same bore spacing, same architecture, built on the same line.
Ferrari and Alfa Romeo were under the same ownership when the Giulia was developed, which made that possible. It also explains the numbers: 510 hp and 600 Nm from under three litres, 3.9 seconds to 100 km/h, and over 300 km/h.
The Giulia arrived in 2015 to take on the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63, and it was Alfa's first rear-wheel-drive saloon in decades — the company had spent twenty years building front-wheel-drive cars and had to design a new platform from scratch to get back.
In the COBI range
The same car is available in red as set 24604 and in Polizia livery as set 24606, both at 1:35.
