COBI's Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-4 is a 1:32 model of the German fighter, built from 390 blocks and supplied with a figure of Luftwaffe pilot Walter Nowotny with two interchangeable headpieces.

The propeller turns, the ailerons move, the landing gear retracts and the cockpit opens. An SC 250 bomb is included for the underwing mounting. The model comes with a black stand, a transparent rod that lets it be posed as if in flight, and a plaque carrying the set name and the Balkenkreuz.

The Green Heart of JG 54

The emblem printed on the fuselage belongs to Jagdgeschwader 54, and its origin is geographic rather than military. Thuringia is known in Germany as the green heart of the country because of its forests, and it was the home region of the unit's commander, Hannes Trautloft, who gave the squadron its marking. The Fw 190 itself was built in more than 20,000 examples, around 6,000 of them fighter-bomber variants. The A-4 was designed for air superiority but was adapted through a system of factory kits into a multi-role aircraft, and the type stayed in service to the end of the war.

In the COBI range

At 1:32 the model belongs to COBI's Historical Collection WWII range and stands correctly alongside the other 1:32 aircraft in the series.
