COBI F-16C Fighting Falcon 1:300 Set 5929

COBI's F-16C Fighting Falcon is a 1:300 display model built from 55 blocks, supplied with a stand carrying the aircraft name and a transparent support that holds the model as if in flight.

At around 7 cm it is a desk or shelf piece rather than a building project.

The single-seat Falcon

The C is the single-seat version of the F-16, and the one most air forces fly in numbers. The aircraft was the first production fighter built deliberately unstable: it will not hold straight and level on its own, and a computer makes hundreds of corrections a second to keep it flying. That instability is what gives it its turn rate. More than 4,600 have been built since 1978 and the type serves with over two dozen air forces.

1:300 is the scale COBI uses for its ships, so this model is sized to sit alongside them rather than beside the larger 1:48 and 1:32 aircraft — including the Top Gun aircraft carrier, set 5922. Set 5941 is the two-seat F-16D.
