COBI Beechcraft T-6 Texan II US Air Force Set 26624 (Damaged Box)

COBI's Beechcraft T-6 Texan II in US Air Force colours is a 1:48 model built from 197 blocks, 17.5 cm long with a 23 cm wingspan, with an opening cockpit, a turning propeller and rotating wheels. The blue and white training scheme carries the tail code RA and USAF insignia.

Condition

This set is sold at a reduced price because the outer box is damaged — it may have holes, creases or crushed corners. The contents are brand new, sealed and complete. If you are building the model rather than collecting sealed boxes, the only difference is the price.

An American aeroplane from Switzerland

The T-6 Texan II is a Pilatus PC-9, built in Switzerland, which Beechcraft licensed and rebuilt so thoroughly that only about a tenth of the parts remained common: pressurised cockpit, ejection seats, onboard oxygen generation, a stronger airframe and a more powerful PT6A turboprop.

It won the competition to replace both the Air Force's T-37 and the Navy's T-34, which is why one type now trains pilots for both services in different colours. The name comes from the Second World War T-6 Texan, to which it is no relation beyond the job.
