BlueBrixx's Stargate Movie 1994 Advent Calendar is an officially licensed BlueBrixx-Pro set built from 1,030 blocks, containing 17 mini builds and 15 figures behind 24 doors. All parts are printed; no stickers.

The 1994 film, not the series

Worth being clear about which Stargate this is. Roland Emmerich's film came first, in 1994, and the television series that followed three years later quietly disagreed with a great deal of it — different actors, a different Ra, a different account of who the Goa'uld are and what happened on Abydos.

Emmerich and Dean Devlin had their own sequels planned and were never involved in the series. For years the two versions coexisted awkwardly and fans argued about which one counted.

This calendar is the film: the Giza excavation, the desert of Abydos, the original gate design with its distinctive inner track. For anyone who came to Stargate through SG-1, it is the part of the story they probably know least — which makes it a better subject for a calendar than a greatest-hits selection would have been.

Twenty-four days, and the size is right

1,030 pieces across 24 doors averages around 40 a day — a few minutes each, which is what an advent calendar needs. Long enough to be a small event in the evening, short enough that nobody falls behind.

Seventeen doors hold a model and the rest figures, so there is something to assemble on most days rather than a run of accessories at the end. And every part is printed rather than stickered, which matters more here than usual: fifteen figures with printed faces stay looking right for years.

It also works simply as a 1,030-piece set built straight through, if December is not the point.
