He was hunted for seven years as a sport
Ronon Dex has the bleakest backstory of anyone in Stargate, and it explains everything about how the character behaves.
His homeworld, Sateda, was destroyed in a Wraith culling. Rather than kill or feed on him, the Wraith made him a Runner: they implanted a tracking device in his back, released him, and hunted him across worlds for their own amusement. Seven years of being found, fighting, escaping through a gate, and being found again.
When the Atlantis expedition encounters him, the first thing they do is cut the transmitter out β an operation he has been unable to perform on himself β and the first thing he does afterwards is stay.
That is why he is the way he is. He is not brooding for effect; he spent the better part of a decade unable to stop moving, and the character arc of the series is a man slowly learning that he is allowed to belong somewhere again.
A likeness from bricks
295 pieces for a 13-centimetre figure, and most of it goes into the head. A human face has no flat planes and no right angles β the opposite of what a brick wants to do β so the model works with small elements at shallow angles, and the likeness resolves from a metre away rather than up close.
