BlueBrixx's Stargate Pegasus Spacegate is an officially licensed BlueBrixx-Pro model built from 67 blocks, measuring 7.3 Γ— 8 Γ— 11.3 cm assembled, with 14 printed elements and no stickers. Two micro-scale Wraith Darts are included. Twenty building steps, no bag separation.

The Pegasus gate does not spin

This is the detail that makes the set worth having beside the Milky Way gate, and it is a real difference the series is consistent about.

A Milky Way Stargate dials by rotating. The inner ring turns, a symbol comes round to the top, and a chevron clamps down on it β€” which is why dialling takes time, and why the sound of a gate turning is one of the most recognisable noises in the franchise.

The Pegasus gates do not move at all. The symbols themselves light up in sequence on a stationary ring, and the chevrons illuminate around them. It is faster, silent, and visibly different.

In the fiction the Pegasus gates are the later design β€” the Ancients built them after leaving the Milky Way, having had several million years to reconsider. Which is a nice piece of world-building: the older gates work by turning a heavy ring, and the newer ones simply do it with light.

Sixty-seven pieces, fourteen of them printed

That ratio is unusual and it is where the money went. On a model this small the symbol ring is the whole subject β€” get it wrong and you have a plastic hoop β€” so BlueBrixx printed the detail onto the parts rather than supplying stickers that would peel off a curved surface within a year.

The two Wraith Darts are the small single-occupant fighters that carry out the cullings in Atlantis, and they are the ships most often seen coming through a Pegasus gate. Including them turns a model of a ring into a scene.

Set 109672 is the SGC Stargate at a similar size β€” the Milky Way gate, for the comparison. Sets 108211, 106842, 106843 and 106847 are the larger Stargate models.

Note that set 108573, also a Pegasus Spacegate, is a different set number and a separate release.
