Where the Al'kesh sits in the Goa'uld fleet
Stargate SG-1 is unusually disciplined about its ship classes, and the Al'kesh occupies a specific rung.
At the bottom is the Death Glider: two crew, short range, launched from a mothership, essentially a fighter. At the top is the Ha'tak β the pyramid-shaped mothership, kilometres across, carrying hundreds of gliders and capable of bombarding a planet.
The Al'kesh is the thing in between, and it is the one that actually shows up. It is a mid-range bomber: hyperspace-capable, so it can cross between worlds on its own without a mothership, big enough to carry troops and cargo, and armed well enough to flatten a target on the ground.
That combination is why it appears so often in the series. A Ha'tak arriving is the end of an episode; a Death Glider is a nuisance. An Al'kesh is a threat a small team can plausibly face, steal, or crash β and SG-1 did all three.
Printed, not stickered
Worth noting on a ship this size. Markings on a curved hull are where stickers fail first, lifting at the edges within a year or two. Every marking on this model is printed onto the part.
In the BlueBrixx range
Set 108211 is the Stargate on Planet diorama with five SG-1 figures. BlueBrixx holds the official Stargate licence, which is why these are accurate rather than approximate β the franchise has had very little merchandise of any kind.
