BlueBrixx City Bus with Station Set 108137

BlueBrixx's City Bus with Station is a BlueBrixx Play set built from 646 blocks, measuring 45 × 33 × 7 cm assembled. The bus has seating and a removable roof, and the set includes a bus stop with shelter, signage and seating. Nine figures are included — a driver and eight passengers. Released 2024.

Nine figures is the unusual part

Figures are the most expensive thing in a brick set per unit of plastic. They need moulds of their own, they are printed rather than plain, and they are the first thing a manufacturer cuts when a set has to hit a price.

Which is why a 646-piece set with nine of them is worth noticing. A bus with two figures is a model of a bus. A bus with nine is a bus in service — someone driving, someone standing, someone waiting at the stop in the rain. The difference is not detail, it is whether the scene has happened yet.

It also makes this the cheapest way to add figures in quantity to a BlueBrixx Play town, which is the thing such a layout always runs short of.

The shelter is real urban design

A bus stop looks like street furniture and is a considered object. It has to be visible from a distance so people find it, transparent so those inside can see the bus coming and those outside can see in, open enough not to trap heat or fear, and sheltered enough to be worth standing in.

Most modern shelters are also paid for by advertising rather than by the transport operator, which is why they appear in places with footfall and are scarce where they would matter most.
