BlueBrixx Battalion Chief's SUV Red/White Set 101865
BlueBrixx's Battalion Chief's SUV in red and white is a BlueBrixx-Specials model built from 240 blocks, weighing around 160 g. No stickers or prints.
The chief does not fight the fire
That is the thing people get wrong about this vehicle, and it explains why it is an SUV rather than an engine.
A battalion chief commands an incident. He arrives, takes a position where he can see the building, and from that moment his job is to decide: how many companies are needed, where they go, whether crews go inside or fight it from outside, and — the decision nobody wants — when to pull everyone out because the structure is about to fail.
None of that involves holding a hose. What it involves is radios, a command board, building plans, a tablet, and somewhere to stand with a view. So the vehicle is a mobile command post: a large estate or SUV carrying communications equipment and reference material, with a boot that opens into a working surface.
It arrives early and stays until the end, and on a large incident it is where everyone reports to. In American fire services the chief's vehicle is often the only one at the scene that is not red — though this one is.
