2012 Upper Deck MLS Soccer Hobby Box | 20 Packs | Factory Sealed

Twenty packs of twelve cards, with five jersey or autograph cards per box on average. The 2012 Upper Deck MLS set has a 200-card base set: 165 Major League Soccer players, 15 MLS Debuts and 20 MLS SuperDraft rookies. It was released on July 12, 2012.

This was Upper Deck's last MLS set. During 2012 Topps secured the exclusive MLS license, and its first MLS cards followed in 2013, so this box closes the Upper Deck run that the 2010 and 2011 editions in our catalog belong to — and the 2013 Topps MLS box, also in our catalog, is its direct successor. It is also the first of those sets without a single Women's Professional Soccer card: the WPS had suspended its 2012 season in January and ended operations in May, two months before this set was released.

The checklist carries the first Upper Deck MLS cards of Robbie Keane, who joined the LA Galaxy in 2011. The autographs include MLS Marks, MLS Marks Throwbacks and MLS Dual Marks, all numbered to 50 or fewer — the dual-signed cards pair names such as Thierry Henry with Dane Richards and Landon Donovan with Josh Saunders — plus unnumbered SuperDraft Signatures and SP Autographs of Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey numbered to 25. The memorabilia side mixes current and Throwbacks versions of Materials, Teammates duals, National Pride triples and Superstars quads, with Premium Series patch parallels numbered to 50 or fewer. Update Trade Card redemptions are inserted as well.
