Upper Deck
2011 Upper Deck SP Game Used Soccer Hobby Box | 6 Packs | Factory Sealed
Eighteen cards. That is the whole box. Six packs, three cards each, and on average a memorabilia or autograph card in every one of them. SP Game Used is Upper Deck's high-end brand, and in 2011 they pointed it at soccer for the first time — a sport whose card collectors had spent years getting one mid-range release a year and nothing above it.
The box guarantees three serial-numbered rookie cards. The rookie pool is small: sixteen Authentic Newcomers numbered to 499 and eight numbered to 99. Among them, at card 76, is the Alex Morgan rookie — one of the most sought-after cards she ever appeared on, and the reason this set is still discussed fifteen years later. Charlie Davies, Pavel Pardo, Benny Feilhaber and Juan Agudelo also debut here.
The memorabilia and autograph checklists carry David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Landon Donovan, Rafael Márquez, Kasey Keller, Abby Wambach and Christine Sinclair. Print runs are small throughout: SIGnificance autographs numbered to 25 or fewer, Extra SIGnificance to 10, Triple Significance to 5. SIGnificant Numbers are numbered to the player's shirt number. On the memorabilia side, Authentic Fabrics Quad runs to 25, the Premium Series parallels down to 10, and Supreme Fabrics to 15. This release also introduced By The Letter game-used name plates, numbered to the count of letters in the player's name — for the shorter names, that means a single copy exists.
Released on 5 January 2012. Sealed boxes rarely surface; most of the print run was opened within a year of release. This box is new and factory sealed.
Every box holds 6 packs of three cards — around six hits and three numbered rookies.

Printed in English by Upper Deck. The checklist is built around Major League Soccer and the United States national teams rather than the European leagues. The 2010, 2011 and 2012 Upper Deck MLS hobby boxes and the 2013 Topps MLS box are also in our catalog; the 2011 edition carries Morgan's earlier rookie card, #198, released nine months before this set.
