Taylor Hall went first overall in the 2010 draft, but the Calder Trophy that season went to the player taken seventh: Jeff Skinner, the youngest man in the league, who scored 31 goals and led all rookies in points at eighteen. Both have Young Guns cards in this box, along with Jordan Eberle, P.K. Subban, Brayden Schenn, Cam Fowler, Sergei Bobrovsky, Nazem Kadri and Derek Stepan.

Each hobby box holds 24 packs of 8 cards. The base set runs to 200 regular cards plus the Young Guns rookie subset.

The anniversary subset is what sets this particular year apart. 2010-11 was Upper Deck's twentieth season of NHL cards, and the variations reproduce the 1990-91 design — the first Upper Deck hockey set, and the one that introduced Young Guns with the rookie cards of Sergei Fedorov and Pavel Bure. Regular-card variations fall 1:5 packs, the Young Guns versions 1:48. Upper Deck dropped the subset after 1992-93 and did not return it to the flagship set until 1999-00, so the design being copied here had only three years of use behind it.

The rarer material in the checklist: Signature Sensations at 1:288 packs, UD Game Patch numbered to 15, and the die-cut acetate Clear Cut cards — Champions numbered to 100, Hall of Fame Inductions and Lineage to 25, together averaging about one per case. Regular set parallels run as Exclusives numbered to 100 and Exclusives Spectrum to 10. All-World Team short prints fall 1:120, and the Yzerman art and header cards 1:504.

One thing to know before opening: the redemption cards in this release expired on 19 October 2012 and can no longer be exchanged. Every other card in the box is a card.
