A Hat-Trick in a 4–3 Defeat

Tottenham Hotspur played their first Champions League season in 2010/11, and one group-stage night made a young left-back famous. On October 20, 2010, at the San Siro, Spurs lost their goalkeeper to a red card in the eighth minute and trailed holders Inter 4–0 at half-time. Gareth Bale then scored a second-half hat-trick, and Tottenham lost only 4–3. Spurs went on to win the group ahead of Inter and reached the quarter-finals.

Wembley 2011

Barcelona won the title, beating Manchester United 3–1 in the final at Wembley on May 28, 2011, with Lionel Messi among the scorers.
