2009 Upper Deck MLS Soccer Box | 36 Packs | Factory Sealed

Thirty-six packs of ten cards, in a configuration with three game-used jersey cards per box. The 2009 Upper Deck MLS set has a 200-card base set covering Major League Soccer's fourteenth season and was released on April 7, 2009, just after that season began.

It shows the league before the most unlikely title run in its history. Real Salt Lake finished the 2009 regular season with a losing record — 11 wins, 12 losses and 7 draws — and took the eighth and last playoff place on a tiebreaker. They then beat the defending champions Columbus Crew, won a penalty shootout in Chicago, and on November 22, 2009 in Seattle drew 1–1 with the LA Galaxy of Landon Donovan and David Beckham before winning the MLS Cup 5–4 on penalties. No team had won the MLS Cup with a losing regular-season record before.

The memorabilia comes from MLS Materials, with a Patch parallel, and Beckham's jersey is part of the pool. Autographs are MLS Marks, numbered to 30 or fewer, but they are scarce: they fall about one per case on average, so most boxes contain no autograph at all. The inserts are Super Draft 2009, National Pride, Golden Boot, MLS All-Stars and Hometown Heroes.

With this box the store carries every Upper Deck MLS edition from 2006 to 2012: the 2006 set from the Houston Dynamo's first season, the 2007 set with Beckham's first MLS card, 2008 with his game-used jerseys, and 2010, 2011 and 2012.
