2009 Topps WWE Wrestling Blaster Box | 10 Packs | Factory Sealed

The patch card in this box shows John Cena, and one of its four versions marks an event that ran under its name for the last time in 2009. Topps made the Commemorative Patch in four designs, each tied to a pay-per-view: WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and The Bash. The Bash was that year's name for the Great American Bash, the summer show WWE had inherited from WCW and staged since 2004; after the June 2009 edition it disappeared from the calendar. Which of the four is inside a given box cannot be seen from the outside.

Each blaster box holds 10 packs of 7 cards, 70 cards in all, plus the one guaranteed patch card. Autographs and event-worn relics are part of the 2009 checklist, but according to the published breakdown they cannot be pulled from blaster boxes.

The design came from baseball. After several years of Heritage-style retro sets, Topps built the 2009 WWE release on the design of 2009 Topps Baseball, and the Legends of the Ring inserts follow the Legends of the Game cards from that line almost exactly. The base set runs to 90 cards, with Gold parallels numbered to 500, Black to 40 and Platinum as one-of-ones. The checklist includes John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, the Undertaker and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
