The 2006 Panini FIFA World Cup Germany Sticker Display Box holds 100 packs of five stickers each, 500 stickers in all, for Panini's official 596-sticker album of the World Cup in Germany. This is the edition Panini released in Uruguay: the box and packs are printed in Spanish and the box names Durulte S.A. of Montevideo, Panini's official importer and distributor in Uruguay. The box is factory sealed.

The album collection covers all 32 teams at the tournament, with player portraits, team photos and badges, plus stadium and tournament stickers. The checklist is the same album collection sold in other countries; what marks this box is its packaging and the market it was made for.

A World Cup Edition for a Team That Wasn't There

Uruguay, the winner of the first World Cup in 1930 and again in 1950, missed the 2006 tournament. As fifth-placed team in South American qualifying it met Australia in a two-leg play-off in November 2005. Uruguay won 1–0 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Australia won by the same score in Sydney four days later, and Australia went through 4–2 on penalties, with John Aloisi scoring the deciding kick. Panini's Uruguayan edition went on sale anyway, so this box was sold to collectors filling an album without their own national team in it. Outside South America, Uruguayan-market boxes from this tournament are seldom seen.

Germany 2006

Italy won the tournament, beating France on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the final at Berlin's Olympiastadion on July 9, 2006.
