COBI's 1965 Fiat Abarth 595 is a 1:35 model built from 70 blocks, 9 cm long, in white with a red side stripe reading FIAT ABARTH 595 and the Abarth scorpion on the bonnet. The wheels rotate on tires, and the set includes a block printed with the model name and year. All markings are printed.

The car that motorised Italy, then got faster

The Fiat 500 arrived in 1957 and did for Italy what the Beetle had done for Germany: it put a country on wheels that had mostly been walking. It was 2.97 metres long, air-cooled, rear-engined, and made under 18 horsepower.

In 1965 Abarth took that car and gave it a 595 cc engine, a sports exhaust, stiffer suspension and better brakes โ€” roughly half again as much power in a shell that weighed barely 500 kilos. The result was quick enough to embarrass much larger cars on a mountain road, which is exactly where Italians drove.
