Twilight and The Hunger Games: A Collector's Guide to NECA's Film Cards

NECA The Hunger Games trading cards box

Between 2008 and 2015, two book series about teenagers became the biggest film franchises aimed at a young audience: Twilight and The Hunger Games. NECA made trading cards for both. This is what our three sealed boxes contain.

Twilight: Eclipse, Series 1 and 2

Both boxes hold 24 packs of 6 cards. The Series 1 box was released in June 2010, around the time of the third film, Eclipse; Series 2 followed the same year with new artwork for the base set. Autograph cards, foil variants and special inserts were randomly inserted.

The Hunger Games (2012)

Released in May 2012 alongside the first film. A box holds 24 packs of 6 cards, and the base set runs to 72 cards in three parts: character profiles with short biographies, film cards from stills, and a nine-card puzzle that builds into a poster.

This one needs a clear note. The Hunger Games retail packs contain no inserts — no autographs, no memorabilia, no foils, no parallels. Autograph cards for the license do exist, including Jennifer Lawrence, but they were issued through separate promotional channels, not in these packs. What the box offers is the complete 72-card set from the film that started the series.

Choosing between them

The Twilight boxes carry the chance of an autograph or insert. The Hunger Games box is a set-building product, and a straightforward one.

Which cards a box contains is random, and no specific card is guaranteed.
